Hello eco-globetrotters! In this article, we’re going to look at practical and eco-friendly travel accessories that you absolutely need in your suitcase. In fact, it’s not hard to find cleaner versions of some accessories we’re used to finding in polluting plastic.
Before we begin, I invite you to visit our blog: L'éco Mag where we take care to highlight the benefits and uses of our flagship plant, bamboo. We also explore the world of zero waste through popular articles such as  "My zero-waste toiletry bag"' which will certainly inspire you to prepare yours for your next trips.
By the way, do you know how to travel responsibly? We have written an article on the subject in which we share a few destination ideas where respect for the environment meets discovery and travel.
Without further ado, here is our list of 5 bamboo travel accessories to put in your suitcase:

5 bamboo travel accessories

Our list is inspired by the utensils and accessories you’ll find in our collections and also at the bottom of this article.

Bamboo wood laptop stand

One of our flagship products! Practical and eco-friendly thanks to its bamboo design, our laptop stand is ideal for travelers who want to make the most of travel time whether by train, plane, or bus to work or watch their favorite series while taking care of their computer.

In fact, the traditional trays found on planes or coaches are not designed for laptops; on the contrary, they increase wear and tear on them.
A laptop stand is perfect for setting down your device while providing proper ventilation, helping to limit component overheating.
In addition, its 4 tilt angles allow you to adjust it perfectly for optimal working comfort.

The bamboo USB flash drive

You may be wondering what a USB flash drive is doing in our travel accessories list. From experience, I strongly recommend having a digital copy of all administrative documents that can easily be lost while traveling. As the saying goes, "prevention is better than cure! " ID card, driver’s license, hotel booking, or worse, passport, you will certainly be very glad in your misfortune to have a scanned copy of these documents. Our USB flash drives are, of course, made from bamboo!

The bamboo water bottle

Any self-respecting globetrotter must have a water bottle, especially if you are sensitive to environmental issues. Depending on the countries you visit, it is often recommended not to drink tap water to avoid any infections. As a result, the most common alternative is to buy plastic water bottles, which is anything but eco-friendly. However, there are tablets that purify water and thus avoid any inconvenience related to the water you consume. These tablets are sold in boxes of 100 and one tablet purifies 1 litre of water on average. You can therefore easily slip a tablet into your bamboo water bottle pre-filled with tap water.

Reusable bamboo cutlery

Practical in all circumstances, our set of natural bamboo wood cutlery is perfect for your picnics, hikes, and trips. Perfectly stored in its fabric pouch, you’ll find everything you need to tuck in: knife, fork, spoon, chopsticks, and even a straw with its cleaning brush to make washing it easier. Note that bamboo wood is naturally rot-resistant, there is no risk of mold related to cleaning, so you can reuse them endlessly and avoid consuming polluting plastic cutlery.

Bamboo wood ballpoint pen

One of our best-sellers definitely has its place in our list. In fact, having a ballpoint pen or fountain pen in your suitcase is very practical. They are allowed in carry-on luggage, contrary to certain misconceptions that would exclude pens because they could be used as weapons. False rumor: if you travel regularly, you will always have a few forms to fill out before passing airport customs, and there our pen will be very useful, not to mention its practical use during long journeys to do your crosswords or Sudoku. Our pens come in their natural bamboo wood case where you can store them after use to avoid losing them.

Digital and electronic travel accessories

Alternative zéro déchet au livre broché, les kindles

This is more about passing the time, but oh so practical! Audiobooks are the ultimate zero-waste books, especially if you don’t particularly enjoy reading. In fact, when I travel, I love pairing a destination with a book I browse through between each break and each journey. The downside is that when you travel light, you can’t lug around a 1,000-page book; here are 2 solutions:

  1. Audiobooks via the "Audible" app
  2. E-books via "Kindle"

The Audible app

This app, available for download on iPhone and Android, is the best-known audiobook app of all the apps of its kind. For literary lovers, nothing beats a printed book, but for everyone else, audiobooks are a wonderful invention, and you can listen to all books translated into your language.

The Kindle

Kindles are true pocket-sized libraries! Download all the books you want in digital format in almost any language. Linked to e-commerce giant Amazon, you can carry all your books together on a single tablet! No need to clutter your luggage with multiple books that take up space and weight. If there is one drawback to point out, it’s that absolute zero waste does not exist! If you choose an audiobook or Kindle format, you do not consume the paper used to make the book, but bear in mind that the computers storing audiobooks and e-books automatically generate greenhouse gas emissions.
