The readers of our blog The Eco Mag know how much we love to sing the praises of the benefits and uses of this wonderful plant. However, at Bamboo Home Store, we believe in being transparent when it comes to the green label that is too often indiscriminately given to bamboo.
You will learn that bamboo is used in many areas: medicine, food, cosmetics, in furniture manufacturing like those featured in our store's collections, as well as in textiles!

If there really is one major downside to using bamboo, besides the issue of textiles, it is quite simply its origin. Since bamboo does not grow naturally in Europe, it is mainly imported from Africa and Asia. The carbon impact caused by transporting it is THE weak point of bamboo when you want it to be eco-friendly. Nevertheless, bamboo remains a material that brings a touch of exoticism and zen-like calm to our Western interiors and exteriors.

Today in 2022, bars and restaurants offer cardboard, edible paste, stainless steel, and of course bamboo straws.
